I’m a lover of the world and far off places who is so excited that you’re here. Looking forward to sharing more of my world with you and all the things I love. I hope this site really does feel like a wellness oasis right here on the internet.
I’m an unapologetic snacker. Some of my days are super long and snacks definitely help me get through them, sometimes I don’t have hours to eat a meal, so I’ve become that girl that always has extra bars in her bag. I’ve learned that preparing in advance is the key to my success especially on busy days. If you have a craving, I’m all about satisfying it but also finding healthier alternatives you’ll feel good about. I’ve done a lot of exploring and here are a few of my current savory and sweet faves!
Savory Snacks:
Simple Mills Almond Flour Crackers: The sea salt crackers really satisfy my cracker craving and they’re PERFECT with Kite Hill Dairy Free Chive Cream Cheese. These are simple but they go with almost any dip you could imagine and they’re so good plain as well.
Paleo Puffs: The “no cheese” cheesiness flavor surprised me, I almost ate the whole bag the first time I tried them. The puffs have a good crunch and the flavor is cheesy without the dairy and reminds me a little of a cross between sour cream and cheddar. This is definitely my favorite flavor out of the three that are in stores.
Hippeas: These satisfy my crunchy craving, and I love that they’re made from chickpeas (one of my fave foods). Vegan white cheddar is my flavor, and it reminds me a little more of ranch than cheddar but these are perfect for a mid-afternoon pick me up. They’re also dippable, so I’ve experimented with guac and it was an oddly satisfying combination.
Sweet Snacks:
SmashMallow & SmashCrispy: Since I can’t eat egg, I’ve always loved rice crispy treats because they were always a sweet snack I could eat. The folks at Smashmallow have taken my favorite snack and given it an upgrade. The flavors are great and now I have a snack that is non GMO and uses all natural ingredients but is still super yummy.
No Cow Bars: These have become a favorite during running season not only for a protein boost throughout the day but also before a workout in the morning. The chocolate flavors taste just like a brownie, and the ingredients are some of the cleanest in the market with impressively low sugar. I’ve had both the regular and energy bars which I have enjoyed for different times of day.
GoMacro Bars: Another go-to bar brand for me because the ingredients are clean and easy to read. I also love that I’m able to get a little protein with good flavor options. I enjoy all of their nut butter bars, but the top choice for me is the granola+coconut (cashew caramel is a close second)
Let me know what you’re loving this spring!
