I’m a lover of the world and far off places who is so excited that you’re here. Looking forward to sharing more of my world with you and all the things I love. I hope this site really does feel like a wellness oasis right here on the internet.
Namibia was our last stop on the Tour de Africa aka our Honeymoon. This country has been on my bucket list for quite some time and Zannier Sonop was the hotel experience I was most excited for on the trip. I had high expectations and the country didn’t disappoint, here’s what we did and saw but there is a lot we didn’t see and do. If you have more time I’d recommend renting a car and spending time driving around the country.
We flew in from Johannesburg, South Africa and it’s one of the most popular routes with several flights back and forth per day. If you’re coming from the US you can fly straight from Newark to Johannesburg!

Start your adventure in the vibrant capital, Windhoek. Check into the Weingberg for a night of tranquility amid vineyards. After settling in, head to Joe’s Beerhouse for a taste of Namibian hospitality and hearty local cuisine. Explore the city’s craft markets and take in the blend of German and African influences.
Day 2: Desert Luxury at Zannier Sonop
Embark on a scenic drive to Zannier Sonop, a luxury desert retreat. Spend the day unwinding in this oasis of calm. Take a dip in the pool overlooking the desert, indulge in a spa treatment, and enjoy a gourmet dinner under the starlit sky. Zannier Sonop offers guided excursions – consider a desert safari or a hot air balloon ride for breathtaking views.
Day 3: Explore the Desert Wilderness
Dedicate your second day at Zannier Sonop to explore the surrounding desert wilderness. Join a guided nature walk to discover the unique flora and fauna. Later, venture to the iconic Sossusvlei dunes and Deadvlei for a surreal experience among towering red sand dunes and ancient petrified trees. As the sun sets, savor a sundowner in this mesmerizing landscape.
Day 4: Voigtland Guesthouse in Voigtland
Drive to Voigtland and check into the Voigtland Guesthouse, a charming retreat surrounded by nature. Spend the afternoon exploring the guesthouse’s gardens or hiking nearby trails. For dinner, indulge in a farm-to-table experience featuring local ingredients and flavors. Voigtland Guesthouse offers a tranquil setting, perfect for stargazing.
Day 5: Adventure in Voigtland
Conclude your Namibian journey with outdoor adventures around Voigtland. Opt for a guided horseback ride or hike to immerse yourself in the picturesque landscapes. Visit nearby attractions such as the iconic Quiver Tree Forest or the Fish River Canyon. End your trip on a high note with a farewell dinner at the guesthouse, savoring the flavors of Namibia.
